Who we are
Hyper Tech Team is the trading name of Hyper TechTeam Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11349745. We are responsible for your details as the “controller”. Our registered office and other details are on our company information page. For anything about your details, email info@hypertechteam.co.uk or call 0800 772 0033.
What we collect
- When you get in touch: your name, phone number, email address and what you tell us about the problem, including photos or videos you send. When you use a form on this website, also your postcode and the day and time that suit you, as the form asks, how you found us, and which page you sent it from.
- When we visit or repair: the address we visit, the device, the fault, what we did, the quote and what you paid.
- Your files: we don’t look through your files. During a repair or a recovery we may need to open the drive to check that your files are there; we never keep copies once the job is done, unless you ask us to.
Why we use it
- To answer you, quote, arrange the visit and do the job (to take steps you ask for, and to carry out our agreement with you).
- To honour the warranty on the work (our agreement with you).
- To keep accounts and records the law requires (legal obligation).
- To run and improve our service, for example by noting which problems are most common (our legitimate interests).
- If you said yes to measurement on this website: to learn which pages and adverts bring us enquiries and jobs, which may link your visit to an enquiry you send, and to tell our advertising service which adverts led to work (our legitimate interests in knowing what brings us work; your yes covers what the website stores in your browser for it).
We don’t sell your details, and we don’t use them for marketing unless you have said yes.
Who else sees it
Only the kinds of service we use to run the business, under contract, and only what each needs. We name them by what they do; ask us if you’d like to know which company provides one.
- WhatsApp, when you message us there, under WhatsApp’s own terms.
- Our phone and email providers, when you call or write to us.
- Our job system, where our staff handle your enquiry and keep the details of each job.
- Our website host, which runs this website and its database, where we keep what you send with a form.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a computer program, is sending our forms (see “This website”).
- Advertising and analytics services, only if you said yes to measurement on this website (see “This website”).
- A service that makes anonymous recordings of how our pages are used, only if you said yes (see “This website”).
- Our accountant, for the records the law requires.
The cookies page lists each cookie and who sets it. We share details with the police or other authorities only when the law requires it.
Outside the UK
Some of these services may handle your details outside the UK, in particular the advertising and analytics services, the recording service, Cloudflare Turnstile and WhatsApp. When they do, it is in a country the UK recognises as protecting personal data adequately, or under contract terms approved for transfers from the UK (the International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU’s standard contract clauses). Ask us if you’d like to know more about a particular service.
How long we keep it
Messages and enquiries that don’t become a job are deleted when they are no longer needed. What you send with a form on this website goes to our job records system, and a copy stays in the website’s database as our backup record of your enquiry until we delete it: we go through it and delete enquiries we no longer need, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Job records are kept for the warranty and for as long as the law requires for accounts (for a company, usually six years), then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them, to delete them, or to stop or limit using them, and you can object to how we use them. Ask us by email or phone; we answer within a month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
This website
We count how this website is used, as totals that don’t say who you are: which pages are seen and for how long, what is pressed (such as call, message or book), where our forms need a second try (never what you typed), how fast pages load and how the visit started (a search engine, an advert, another website). It sets no cookies and keeps no internet address and no ID; the counts are stored on our website host for 90 days, and only totals are kept after that. The law allows this without asking, and you can stop it at any time with “Cookie choices” at the foot of any page or on our cookies page. A monthly report on the totals is written with the help of an AI tool, which sees totals only, never your details.
The advertising and analytics services, and the recording service, load only if you press “That’s fine” (or turn them on under “Cookie choices”). They then set cookies, and use what they collect under their own privacy notices; the cookies page lists each cookie and who sets it. With your yes, we also keep a random number for the visit, the advertising service’s reference for the advert you came from and the pages you see; if you send us an enquiry, they are kept with it, and we may tell the advertising service which of its adverts led to work (see “Why we use it”). You can withdraw your yes at any time in the same place.
Our website host keeps short-lived technical logs, such as internet addresses, to keep the site secure.
To stop spam, our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending them. It starts only when you begin filling in a form, and sends Cloudflare technical details about your connection and browser, such as your internet address, for that check; Cloudflare says it uses them to tell people from computer programs, not to identify, profile or target anyone (Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy notice). We also count how many forms come from one internet address in an hour, keeping only a scrambled form of the address, for a day. Both are in our legitimate interest in keeping the forms safe and working.
