Quick answer

Can you fix my computer’s software?

Yes. We sort out Windows and macOS problems, programs that won’t install or open, email that won’t send, pop-ups and viruses, and updates that went wrong, and we set up new computers with your files and programs moved across. We come to you, or help remotely when that suits, and your quote comes first.

Symptoms

What it usually turns out to be

What you see, what is usually behind it, and what to do now. We confirm it before any work starts.

  • A pop-up says your computer is infected

    Usually
A scam web page, not a real virus warning.
    What to do now
Don’t call the number on the screen. Close the browser, and call us if it won’t close.
  • A program won’t open or keeps crashing

    Usually
A damaged install, an update it doesn’t like, or a missing part of Windows.
    What to do now
Note the exact error message; a photo of it on WhatsApp helps.
  • Emails stuck in the outbox

    Usually
Changed account settings or password, or a full mailbox.
    What to do now
Check you can still sign in to your email on the web.
  • An update failed, or keeps coming back

    Usually
Low disk space, a damaged update or a driver it won’t accept.
    What to do now
Don’t switch off during an update; tell us the error code if there is one.
  • Office asks you to pay again

    Usually
A subscription that ended, or a licence that was never activated.
    What to do now
Don’t buy anything yet: a one-off licence can be cheaper for some people.
  • Odd new toolbars or search pages

    Usually
Unwanted programs installed alongside something else.
    What to do now
Don’t enter passwords on unfamiliar pages until it is checked.

Real jobs

A real software job, and what a customer wrote.

Every job is quoted on its own. This is a job we have actually done, and what a customer wrote.

  • A job we did

Printer connection fixed, and Office without the subscription

We repaired the printer connection and installed Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) on a one-off licence instead of a monthly subscription, so the customer stopped paying every month for software they already owned.

  • “Very knowledgeable technician. Arrived on time and set up and tuned in my new printer, copier and scanner with aplomb.”
